Add Motion Sensing to Your Device
Describing motion mathematically and successfully applying that motion can be challenging. This session covers the definition of linear and angular motion, coordinate frames of reference, and the mathematical representations of motion including Euler angles, direction cosine matrices and quaternions. This session discusses current motion sensing technologies such as MEMS linear accelerometers, angular velocity sensors (MEMS gyroscopes), magnetometers, cameras and sensor fusion solutions including IMUs. Motion applications including cursor control, joystick, gestures and virtual 3D object control will be discussed.
